This lecture will discuss the exciting possibilities that exist with comprehensive early orthodontic and dentofacial orthopedic treatment done on preadolescent patients. It will be demonstrated that through the use of orthodontic appliances such as the lip bumper, quad helix, jackscrew skeletal expanders. The course is designed for orthodontists, pediatric dentists and general practitioners who are interested in learning more about mixed dentition treatment modalities.
The exponential growth in implant dentistry has resulted in the development of a number of new and important procedures. This hands-on workshop uses a pig jaw model where participants will practice the regenerative treatment of fresh extraction sockets, including the selection and use of bone grafts, membranes and biological wound dressings. Additionally, participants will be taught flap elevation and suturing techniques that may be used in conjunction with ridge preservation procedures.
